Housing in Canada Online

Welcome to Housing in Canada Online,

an interactive resource presenting an overview of CMHC's data on housing conditions and core housing need for 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991.

An easy-to-use electronic database, Housing in Canada Online (HiCO) enables you to create custom tables to examine housing conditions in your area by Aboriginal household status, household type, tenure and age group, including whether or not households live in dwellings that meet CMHC’s housing standards. For households living in dwellings below standards, HiCO identifies whether they are in core housing need.

HiCO provides data for Canada, and the provinces and territories, including urban and rural totals for each. HiCO also includes data for all Regional Municipalities, Census Metropolitan Areas and Census Agglomerations, as well as subtotals for remaining small urban communities.
